LACRUS (Live Automatic Catheter Reconstruction on UltraSound) is a cutting-edge segmentation algorithm used to track in real-time a needle while it is inserted by the physician during a biopsy or a brachytherapy treatment. The results are displayed immediately as an overlay on the live ultrasound image. A first version of the algorithm was available in Oncentra® Prostate 4.0, the latest version is included in BiopSee®.
